Dr. Dre and Suge Knight relationship is back in the news in a drastic way.
On Monday (04-04-16) court documents were filed on behalf of former Death Row Records CEO, Suge Knight claiming Dr. Dre worked with a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy to murder Knight.
TMZ reports the documents claim it all went down in 2014 after Knight was shot 7 times while attending an after party for the Video Music Awards in Hollywood nightclub 1OAK.
According to Knight’s attorney, Thaddeus Culpepper, a sheriff’s deputy purposely let the shooter inside of the club where Suge was later injured. In court documents, Culpepper, says his claims are solidified by two damning videos: a club surveillance video depicting Deputy Henry Boyd opening the door for the gunman and video footage of the deputy helping the gunman flee the county at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The documents claim that the shooter made a confession that Dre allegedly paid him and an accomplice $50K to carry out the attempted murder.
Additionally, the documents claim Deputy Boyd was questioned by authorities about the shooting and subsequently resigned from the department.
Knight is currently being held in a Los Angeles area jail on attempted murder and murder charges.
Dr. Dre’s attorneys say the claim is “ridiculous.” However, the LA County Sheriff’s department has still hasn’t responded.
