The much-tweeted and talked about “Beyoncé protest” didn’t go the way organizers believed it would.

According to The Wrap, on a rainy Tuesday (Feb.16) New York morning, anti-Beyoncé demonstrators didn’t show up to their own event. The planned protest was sparked by the singer’s performance of her new single, “Formation,” which embraces black American life and culture, at the halftime show for Super Bowl 50.

Beyoncé’s performance wardrobe also had people in an uproar, the background dancers who wore black leather, black berets and ’60s-style Afros recalling the garb of the Black Panthers in their heyday.

According to CBS2 in New York, the NYPD and the National Football League security were prepared for any situation during the protester’s possible showdown. But no one for the other side showed up.

According to News talk radio, they reported about three dozen Beyonce supporters gathered on the sidewalk outside the NFL building, and nobody else.
