According to TMZ, former Death Row Records CEO Marion ‘Suge’ Knight has taken legal action to lift his ban on visits and phone calls during his incarceration. Suge has been incarcerated for more than a year for charges of murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run, with bail set at $10 million.

Knight pleaded not guilty to a fatal accident on a movie set in Compton, California, when he is alleged had to raced away from the scene in his car. He struck and killed his friend Terry Carter and injured actor Cle Sloan, with his lawyer claiming he was fleeing an ambush when the incident took place.

In January, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department submitted a request asking for Knight’s phone calls and visitation privileges to be cut, without publicly revealing the reason. It was granted by the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge William C. Ryan, meaning he could not communicate with any of his family and friends.

Knight has now filed legal papers to fight the restrictions. He claims his basic human rights are being violated as he has to sit in isolation with no ability to communicate for an indefinite period of time.
