After fans showed support to their Kickstarter goal in 2015, TLC has offered a tentative summer release date for their new album.
It only took one week to generate $150,000 from music fans and now Allhiphop reports that the group’s manager, Bill Diggins, states the album will likely be released this summer.
In total, TLC received $430,000 after about a three week run with the campaign.
However, the hold up with releasing the crowd-funded project did cause a little bit of backlash when fans, upset with the album’s delayed arrival, created A “#TLCIsGoingToJailParty” hashtag on Twitter. Diggins apologized in statement released on Kickstarter, saying the delay was due to an arena tour TLC had to wrap up before they could finish work on the album.
The new, as of yet untitled project, will be the first since the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez in 2002.
