Tupac fans have waited for this day, but did they wait for a storyline that was ficition?

Today the much-anticipated biopic of Tupac Shakur, All Eyez On Me, arrived in theaters to lukewarm reviews from critics. Now, Jada Pinkett Smith, who was an extremely close friend of Pac, has spoken about the film on Twitter, voicing her displeasure with what she says is an inaccurate depiction of their friendship and the time they spent together.

She calls the re-imagining of their relationship “deeply hurtful.”

One popular scene Smith called into question was when Pac (played by Demetrius Shipp, Jr.) read her (played by Katt Graham) a letter before heading off to L.A. Smith says that scene is completely false.

Smith added that Pac didn’t tell her that he was leaving to L.A. at all, but instead was forced to leave abruptly. She added that his departure had nothing to do with music.

Smith offered her respect to both Shipp and Graham for their portrayals of Pac and herself and wished her beloved friend Tupac a happy birthday.
