More troubles for Dark Man X….
Last month DMX was under a travel restriction following his release from jail on a $500,000 bond. He was not supposed to leave New York City, however, he took a recent trip to St. Louis and on Wednesday, Manhattan Federal Judge Jed Rakoff announced he received word that DMX had violated bail conditions.
“The Court has received a report from pretrial services indicating that the defendant may have violated the terms of his pretrial release in numerous respects,” Judge Rakoff said in an order docketed Wednesday afternoon.
However, DMX’s lawyer said that while he did travel to St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, he did so with the permission of his probation officer. Judge Rakoff has requested DMX appear in court on Friday to discuss the possible violation.
Back in July, DMX was arrested for tax evasion. The U.S. Attorney General’s Office claims DMX was involved in multi-year scheme to hide millions of dollars of income from the IRS and to avoid paying $1.7 million in taxes from 2002 to 2005. He was charged with multiple counts of tax evasion, if found guilty on the 14 counts of tax evasion, DMX could face up to 44 years in prison.
When asked about the indictment and the ramifications, DMX answered, “My life is in God’s hands.”
